Frustration Rummy Hands

Bamboo: the beach car of the XXI century?

It is refreshing to see that this period marked by technological breakthroughs, we can also to bet back to something more basic. So the public could appreciate the concept car Citroën Lacoste, seen at Paris Motor Show. It was a reinterpretation of the famous Mehari, but without falling into nostalgia. Rinspeed also exploring this path with the Bamboo, the latest creation of the brilliant Swiss designer Frank Rindeknecht. It will probably still the event at the Geneva show with this electric car range.

Watch the video:

At first glance this is nothing more than a golf cart.

True Rinspeed wanted a vehicle that has nothing superfluous. Which does not have unusual ingredients such as bamboo fiber used inside and give their name to the concept car.

This will obviously be an electric car. With its 54 kW motor home Frager and its lithium-ion battery, it can travel 105 km with a top speed of 120 km / h. It may even carry a portion folding electric two-wheeled (one bike so) to go shopping in town.

Another innovation is a roof inflatable shelter from the rain. Created by the company Tecnotex and covered with a waterproof paint, the roof was decorated by premium American artist James Rizzi. This New York has made a name in contemporary painting. Moreover, Rinspeed again drawing the famous bird Rizzi top of door jambs.

This logo will also change color to communicate outside the mood of the driver (green: I'm alone, blue: I want to party, orange j I need a break). The message is projected on the grille, transformed into display. Thus, the process Identiface (developed by MBtech, a subsidiary of Daimler) displays outside the Facebook pages of the occupants or news for example.

is also a communicating car. On board, you can use a tablet HTC "Flyer" with its docking station and a smartphone. The interior also reveals a futuristic dashboard and audio system with speakers Harman JBL and implementation of web radios Aha Radio which I have already spoken on this blog. Harman has also developed the process HALOsonic ESS ™ to prevent pedestrians the arrival of the electric car by synthetic sound.

Seemingly eccentric, the project brings together serious actors such as Akzo Nobel, Continental, Goodyear, and MBtech consulting firm AT Kearney. The power producer RWE also partners in the project with an intelligent charging station.

The goal is to produce the Bamboo and make an electric car track, available at rent in the heavenly places such as the Mediterranean basin, Middle East, the Caribbean, Florida, and of course Saint-Tropez Côte d'Azur.
